I am taking some time off from the blog and developing my portfolio site. Family circumstances are requiring the majority of my energy at the moment. The site should be finished by the end of August 2008 and hopefully I will be able to start blog entries again in a month or so.

I was excited to find this video. There are a couple of similarities with my own work. The video uses technology to create temporary tattoos on the body. The tattoos are patterns created in reaction to an embrace between a couple. Patterns of emotion, physical sensations and relationships between the body/person and its surroundings.

I also think it is interesting that all of the marks are being created by the female on a male body. He is submissive to her in this position. While the marks reflect the internal structure of his body, they are surprisingly feminine and curvy. They become an androgynous couple. For the first time I find myself curious about how my mark-making language which change if I was responding to a male body instead of my own.
